With the upcoming 2025 IPL Mega auction around the corner, the IPL teams are already mapping their strategies to build a core ahead of the 2025 IPL. The T20 format has often been seen as batting dominated & with an abundance of batters who will go under the hammer, the competition within 10 teams in the auction table is expected to be fierce.In this article, we will go through the top five batters likely to dominate the auction and be potential assets for the respective franchises. Here are the top five batters to be potential targets by the franchise in the 2025 IPL mega auction. David Miller David Miller for Gujarat Titans Base Price: INR 2 Crores Released by: Gujarat Titans Set- Marquee 2 Very Few Overseas batters have played spin as attractive as David Miller in the Indian conditions. The Left-handed batter has not only enjoyed batting in Indian conditions over the last couple of seasons, but his finishing ability with the bat makes him a tempting option for so many franchises at the auction table. With over 130 matches, the South African batter has scored over 2900 runs in the IPL. But it has been his last couple of seasons that have seen his gameplay taking off. Gujarat Titans had bought David Miller in the 2022 mega auction for INR 3 Crores & it didn’t take too long for Miller who score over 481 runs in 16 matches averaging 68 in the 2022 IPL season where Gujarat Titans emerged as champions. Jake Fraser McGurk Jake Fraser McGurk for Delhi Capitals Base Price: INR 2 Crores Released by: Delhi Capitals Set- Batters 1 The Australian batter caught everyone’s eyes in the 2024 IPL season, with his fearless batting approach representing the Delhi Capitals. Though he had come in as a replacement for the franchise, the right-handed batter had a remarkable impact in the following season scoring 330 runs in nine matches at an explosive strike rate of 234. The young batter's bold approach to batting could make him one to watch out for in the upcoming auction. Shreyas Iyer Shreyas Iyer for Kolkata Knight Riders Base Price: INR 2 Crores Released by: Kolkata Knight Riders Set- Marquee 1 Shreyas Iyer successfully led Kolkata Knight Riders to their third IPL after winning the 2024 season. The Indian batter was the Kolkata Knight Riders; skipper in the following season. But surprisingly, Shreyas Iyer was released by the franchise ahead of the season. A dynamic batter who has a Powerstroke game both against Spin & Pace could potentially catch the attention of so many teams in the 2025 mega auction. With 116 matches in IPL, Shreyas Iyer has scored 3127 runs averaging 32.27. The Mumbai batter played seven consecutive seasons for Delhi Capitals also leading them to the finals in 2020, before moving to Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022.
