It was a delight of an innings filled with determination & composure before the batter was dismissed for 297 missing out on the well-deserved triple century.

Aaryavir scored the majority of his scores through boundaries with 222 runs of 297 coming in the form of boundaries with a boundary percentage of 74.75%. His innings came at an accelerated strike rate of 96. Unfortunately, his innings came to an end after being bowled by Rudra Singh Rathore. Following his 297 Delhi ended up with a massive total on board, declaring the innings for a score of 623/5 against the Meghalaya who had opted to bat first & had scored 260 in the first innings.

Virender Sehwag appreciated his son Aaryavir’s innings and wrote on ‘X’ formerly known as Twitter,” Well played @aaryavirsehwag. Missed a Ferrari by 23 runs. But well done, keep the fire alive, and may you score many more daddy hundreds and doubles and triples. Khel jaao”

Born in 2007, Aaryavir Sehwag has shown significant signs of following his father Virender Sehwag who was known for his aggressive approach with the bat who scored over 16,000 International runs across formats representing the Indian side.

Though in his teenage years, Aaryavir already has had a promising start after featuring in various domestic tournaments. Though the aggressive approach to take on the bowlers had backfired in the initial matches but following his 297 against the Meghalaya could well be the turning point for Virender Sehwag’s Elder son.
