Sufiyan made his debut in cricket representing Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on February 14, 2023, in Karachi, marking the start of his journey in franchise cricket. Later he made his List A debut for Pakistan A against UAE A on July 17, 2023, in Colombo, where he showcased his skills in the 50-over format. In T20I cricket he debuted against Hong Kong on October 3, 2023, in Hangzhou.

Sufiyan Muqeem has displayed remarkable potential as a bowler across various formats and tournaments. In T20 Internationals, he has played 4 matches, delivering 84 balls and claiming 6 wickets at an impressive average of 13.66 and an economy rate of 5.85, with his best bowling figures being 2/11. In List A cricket, he has participated in 6 matches, bowling 353 balls and securing 10 wickets at an average of 30.30 and an economy rate of 5.15, with a best performance of 3/36. Sufiyan Muqeem last featured in a T20I match for Pakistan against Bangladesh on October 7, 2023, during the Asian Games in Hangzhou, where he delivered a spell of 1/32. After a significant gap, he earned his place back in the national team and made his return in the white ball series against Australia in the 2nd T20I on November 16, 2024, in Sydney, where he bowled a tidy spell, conceding just 21 runs in 2 overs, marking his comeback on the international stage.
